Building From Basic Black... 3rd Option...

My Basic Black dress is pictured here:                        This is how the outfit started...

Then we added a white sweater as well as a scarf which added a "pop" of color...

The sweater has black edging along sleeves, neckline and ribbed waistline.  (Wish I could find this same sweater with blue edging.)

Now to reveal the third option I'm presenting
with this basic black dress:

This black, brocade blazer is a stylish item when additional warmth is needed.
I am so pleased with the design details front and back which add casual elegance.

Attempting a photo close-up of the brocade design.

And the scarf makes its way from the sweater version to the blazer version.

So a dress, a sweater, a blazer...  and now to add another thrilling "reveal" - well, it's thrilling for me.  This blazer still had its original tags on it so I know what it would have cost if I had bought it retail.  The blazer was available at a Goodwill Store in San Antonio and cost me $19.95.  Now that's more than I usually pay for a thrift store item but when I find something as perfect, timeless and new as this blazer, I think it's worth paying a little more than usual.

Of course there are many more options for a Basic Black dress, but those may find their way to this blog in the future.  For now, I am grateful for Goodwill stores where I can find treasures on every aisle.  This is the way I am clothed according to the words of Jesus:

Matthew 6:27-34

The Message (MSG)
27-29 “Has anyone by fussing in front of the mirror ever gotten taller by so much as an inch? All this time and money wasted on fashion—do you think it makes that much difference? Instead of looking at the fashions, walk out into the fields and look at the wildflowers. They never primp or shop, but have you ever seen color and design quite like it? The ten best-dressed men and women in the country look shabby alongside them.
30-33 “If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.
34 “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.
